A Game of Thrones is a persistent role playing game world built upon the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine that is based upon the best selling novel, A Game of Thrones, by George R. R. Martin. It is a permadeath world in which players play a preeminent role in the evolution of the world through the actions of their characters.

Primary Goals

  • To create a unique role-playing experience for new and veteran role players alike in an exciting, award winning, and first of its kind setting.
  • To create a self-sufficient, player driven game world that delivers a gratifying and dynamic gaming experience.
  • To create a world in which Dungeon Masters can supplement and support game play without needing to drive it.

 

Secondary Goals

  • To recreate the world of Westeros according to canon.

 

History

A Game of Thrones began as an idea in 2006. Since then, it's been a collaboration of individuals working to organize ideas and information, research the setting, and translate it all into game visuals and mechanics. With the stability of the NWN2 Toolset much improved since its release, and the introduction of valuable time-saving plugins, the time was right to begin constructing the rich tapestry of Westeros. 2008 will be the year in which Westeros emerges onto the NWN2 scene for the very first time.
